Just last month they released an update with a few minor changes to some monster and trap spawn opportunities. Spelunky developers Mossmouth have updated the game in the past to make it a little easier. Check out these notes for yourself for more details. The iconic figure of the first game makes itself present here, and it has an array of. Many more fixes and quality of life changes have been added in this patch. Olmecs Lair is an obligatory stop whether youre coming from the Jungle or Volcana. Developer Mossmouth’s long-awaited roguelike sequel is tough certainly even more so than its already hard-as-nails predecessor.

However, that’s just the cream of the crop. Spelunky 2’s latest update, patch 1.15.0, is a big ‘un.
Black market items are now sold at the base price (cheaper). If you dismount in mid-air after the mount’s second jump while wearing Vlad’s cape, the mount will not jump a third time. 
Fixed the cloak behavior of Vlad on the quicksand. Players can now grab ladders and ropes while attacking. Trying to pick something up quickly should be more responsive now. The physics should no longer crush the player as easily as before. Other notable changes from the patch notes include: The downside to this is that Olmec’s floats (the little jets in the air that keep them in the air) have been reduced from 3hp to just 1hp, making them much easier to dismantle. Graham tells me this was a bit boring and this change means that now you actually have to get more into the fight. The previous strategy for this fight was to ride his head forever because the explosions couldn’t hit you. While this seems to make him easier, it puts him at a higher risk of getting hit. Patch 1.15.0 changes Olmec so that in its second phase it only drops bombs at you when you are below it. Olmec is back in Spelunky 2, and his fight basically goes the same way as before.This giant floating head smashes the ground under you, and your goal is to make him. To get this #content, you need to enable targeting cookies. Where phase 1 and 3 are very predictable and consistent, phase 2 is randomized and messy, and the six bomb attack is overkill. Not everything in this update is meant to help you, however, as the biggest changes may make the Olmec boss fight a little harder. Phase 2 was always the worst part of the fight because of the combined crush risk and bomb risk. 
Opening up all the shortcuts can be a bit of a grind but playing with friends will make the time go much faster.7 s good that the rogue platformer’s latest patch has resulted in players dying a little less often, as it’s harder for physics to crush you. Spelunky 2: World 3 Olmec’s Lair Guide World 3 is a world with only one stage that resembles the final (non-secret) chamber of the previous Spelunky. Up to 4 players can work together and explore the depths, creating their own adventures along the way. The best way to experience the game and unlock all of the shortcuts is by playing with a friend. Spelunky 2 has so much to offer its players and will likely add new content in the future with a patch or if there's enough community outcry for it.
These shortcuts will save the players tons of time when wanting to go back to previous stages.
Shortcut #3: The player needs to finish World 4 and have three different runs where they need to hand over a $50,000 donation, a hired hand, and a golden key. This also requires 3 different unique runs where the player needs to give up 1 rope, a mount, and a weapon. 
Shortcut #2: The player needs to get bay Olmec and take one of the two exits below. While this might seem like it makes him easier, it actually put you at. Patch 1.15.0 alters Olmec so that during his second phase hell only throw bombs at you if youre below him. Shortcut #1: The player needs to complete 1-4 then hand over a $2000 donation, 1 bomb, and a $10,000 donation on three different runs of the level. Not everything in this update is designed to help you out, though, because the biggest tweaks might actually make the Olmec boss fight a bit harder.
